LeFranc 12-hour No-Lead Gilding Size
LeFranc 12-Hour No-Lead Gilding Size is an oil- and solvent-based adhesive designed for both interior and exterior gilding applications. It is particularly well suited for large surfaces and projects completed in dry, low-dust environments where a longer working time is beneficial. The extended tack time allows gilders to work carefully and consistently across larger areas.
This size typically reaches the proper gilding tack in approximately 12–14 hours and remains open for gilding for 8–12 hours, providing ample time for precise leaf application. For projects where the highest brilliance and depth of finish are desired, the 12-hour size is often preferred over faster mixtures such as 3-hour sizes. Its formulation also produces a stronger pictorial film, resulting in a more durable gilded surface.
LeFranc 12-Hour Size provides coverage of approximately 150 square feet per container and may generally be top-coated after about one month. It is available in 75 ml, 250 ml, and 1 liter containers.
