Mica Kits

Our Mica and Pearlescent Powders offer a vibrant, multi-colored selection of finely ground pigments designed to create shimmering, light-catching finishes across a wide range of decorative and artistic applications. These powders are non-toxic, non-tarnishing, and highly versatile, making them ideal for both professional craftsmen and creative experimentation.

Mica powders can be mixed into acrylics, oils, shellac, varnishes, and other clear vehicles, giving you full control over the final effect. Use a small amount for a soft, translucent metallic veil, or increase the concentration to achieve a bold, opaque metal-like finish. Colors can also be intermixed to create custom palettes and unique visual effects.

These powders are especially well suited for “Flash Gilding”, a technique in which mica is brushed directly onto a properly sized surface at tack. In this method, the powder sits on the surface rather than being mixed into a medium, creating a luminous, reflective finish with excellent coverage.
