Agate stone burnisher flat DR14

A traditional tool for the water gilding process. Consists of a polishes agate head (available in a range of shapes and sizes to suit the job needed) mounted in a stainless steel ferrule attached to a wooden handle.

Burnishers are only suitable for use on a surface that has been water gilded. A surface that has been prepared using a gold size does not have flexibility or grip on the leaf required in order to burnish it and attempting to do so will only tear and scratch the surface.
